Abstract

The purpose of this study was to provide the basic data for the effective health management of the industrial workers by understnnt-iing th~ degree of their subjective symptoms that workers feel, and by analizing worker’s genera] characteristics and identifying the iiitei-ielalionship of their work. The results, that are analized from organic solvent handing workers arid office workers who were working at four chemical industrial factory, located at Chonbuk-Industrial corps where no more than 300 wokers were working, through Dee, 1. —Dec. 31, 1993, were as follows.
1. The subjective symptoms appealing of organic solvent exposed workers showed higher degree than that of nonexposed workers in most subjective symptoms, and statistically there were some significant difference in irritation symptoms(PKO.
05), general weakness symptoms(FKO.000). respiratory symptoms. derm~tnlngir symptoms, and peripheral —nervous symptoms(PKO.05).
2. Generally the subjectve symptoms appealing~1iuwed higher degree In older workers than the others on the basis of ages.
3. The subjective symptoms appealing showed higher degree in married workers than the others on the basis of marriage.
4. The subjective symptoms appealing showed higher degree in higher educated workers than the others on the basis of education,
5. The subjective symptoms appealing showed higher degree in longer career workers than the others on the basis of career.
6. The subjective cymptomo oppciiiing showed higher degree in workers who do not have any knowledge on disease prevention than the others on the basis of disease prevention knowledge.
7. The subjective symptoms appealing showed higher degree in workers who were more concerned about health than the others on the basis of concern on health.
8. The subjective symptoms appealing showed higher degree in workers who understand education of harmful works better than the others on the basis of understanding education on harmful works.
9. Statistically there were significant difference. since the subjective symptoms appealing showed higher degree in workers who feel tired more fre~uently than others on the baoi3 of fotiguc thcy feel (PKO.000).
10. The subjective symptoms appealing showed higher degree in the workers who were more unsatisfied with their working condition on the basis of satisfaction with their working condition.
